Easy To Make Low Carb Gravy Recipe – Turkey – Chicken – Beef – Keto
Welcome all! Papa G here. Today I presentlow carbohydrate gravy.
Finally, you can enjoy turkey, chicken andbeef with gravy and not worry about the
carbohydrates. This low carbohydrate gravy recipe offers the same, if not better, flavor than its
high carb, flour based counterparts - at afraction of the carbohydrates. Let's get started.
We'll be making a chicken gravy here, butwith only a couple of small ingredient
changes, the base recipe works for turkeyas well as beef. Run an onion over a
grater until you have about threetablespoons of onion puree. This will
give us the onion flavor we want whilekeeping our gravy creamy. For our chicken
gravy spice blend, we'll that 1/2 ateaspoon of garlic powder; some salt; a
little black pepper; about 1/2 a teaspoonof xanthan gum; some sage dried thyme; and
we'll finish with a little poultryseasoning. Blend well to combine.
To a small sauce pot on medium high heat, addfour tablespoons of unsalted butter; add
our grated onions and let that cook fora minute or two. Add our spice blend and
cook for about three minutes or until itjust becomes a golden color. Add two cups
of chicken stock and mix well. Now stirin some heavy cream.
For color and additional flavoring, add abrowning sauce. Most people are
familiar with Kitchen Bouquet, butthere's always options out there. Here's
one that offers only a third of thecarbs and adds no additional sodium,
which helps you control the amount inthe recipe. Reduce the heat to medium-low
and let the gravy reduce and thicken, stirring occasionally.
This may take about 10 to 15 minutes.Once it reaches your desired thickness,
remove from the heat. You can store thegravy in an airtight container in the
refrigerator for later use, or serve ithot over your favorite chicken or turkey
dinner. Substitute beef stock, tarragonand rosemary and you have an awesome low
carbohydrate beef gravy! Any way you decide tomake it, you won't be disappointed!
